• Simultaneous interpretation
The simultaneous interpretation occurs at the same time as the speaker delivers his/her.The interpreter sits in a sound-proof booth in front of a microphone and listens to the speaker carefully through headphones while translating in real time for the audience, who, in turn, listens via headsets. This type of interpretation is mostly used at high-profile meetings, conventions and seminars, where fluent and immediate communication is key.
• Consecutive interpretation
During consecutive interpretation, the speaker speaks for a while and the interpreter listens to him/her – sometimes even takes notes of the essence of the statement. When the speaker pauses, the interpreter renders the speech in the target language. This type of interpretation is best suited for a smaller audience, for instance at interviews, business meetings, press conferences, and other formal functions.
• Liaison interpretation
Liaison interpretation is a type of consecutive interpretation and creates a link between two people or a small group of people (ideally not more than 5). It is commonly used during rather casualactivities such as sightseeing tours, training workshops or informal luncheons.
• Telephone interpretation
As its name suggests, telephone interpretation is a type of consecutive interpretation which happens over the phone. In that case, a conference call is set up between the participants and the interpreter. This type of interpretation is the ideal solution when the participants are located in different geographical areas.
LOCALIZATION
Localization is the process of linguistic and cultural adaptation of a translation to the target locale. It goes beyond the mere translation of the source material into the local language. Other important factors should be taken into consideration, including idioms, the use and the nuances of the language, product names, cultural customs, colors, measures, currency, etc.
EDITING & PROOFREADING
The translation services offered by Focus Translation always include the meticulous review of the translated material by a qualified native proofreader as part of our quality management.
Besides the conventional editing and proofreading that all Focus Translation’s projects undergo, we also edit and proofread any “external” material, which has not been translated by our team. We will compare it with the original document in order to ensure the integrity and faithfulness of the rendered translation.

Focus Translation has teamed up with leading companies to arrange and coordinate the multilingual transcription of audiovisual materials (films, documentaries, reports, promotional videos, etc.) and can transcribe them in any major language, media and format (CD, DVD, audio or video cassette, Mp3, Mp4, .avi, .mpeg, .asf, .wmv) and deliver it to you as text. The script can then be translated into any major language of your choice.
